Course Conversion Factors
Convert times between different pool courses for accurate seeding.
Pool Courses
- SCY (Short Course Yards): 25-yard pools
- LCM (Long Course Meters): 50-meter pools (Olympic)
- SCM (Short Course Meters): 25-meter pools
Accessing Conversion Factors
Go to Settings > Conversion Factors
Default Factors
High School teams automatically receive NFHS conversion factors. Other team types start with no factors.
Managing Factors
Adding a Factor
- Click "Add Factor"
- Fill in distance, stroke, gender, event type, from/to course, and factor
- Click "Add Conversion Factor"
Editing/Deleting
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to a factor.
How Conversion Works
Formula: Converted Time = Original Time × Factor
Example: 24.50 SCY × 1.115 = 27.32 LCM
During seeding, times from different courses are automatically converted for fair heat placement.
Factor Values
- Greater than 1.0: Times get slower (SCY → LCM)
- Less than 1.0: Times get faster (LCM → SCY)
Troubleshooting
Unconverted times in seeding: Verify a matching factor exists for that distance, stroke, gender, and course combination.
Incorrect conversions: Check factor direction (SCY→LCM vs LCM→SCY).
