Seeding Individual Events

Enter athletes into events and manage heat and lane assignments.

Accessing Event Seeding

1. Go to your meet details page
2. Click "Seed Events"
3. Select an individual event

Adding Athletes

Auto Seed

Click Auto Seed to automatically select athletes with seed times, sort by fastest, distribute across heats, and assign lanes (center lanes for fastest swimmers).

Requirements: Meet must have defined heats and scoring lanes.

Manual Entry

1. Find the athlete in the table
2. Check the Entered column
3. Set Seed Time (MM:SS.HH), Seed Course, and Entry Type

Filtering

Use search, gender, grade, division, or entry status filters.

Seed Times

Format: MM:SS.HH (e.g., "1:23.45")

Times from different courses are automatically converted. See Course Conversion Factors.

Entry Types

• Scoring: Counts toward team scores
• Exhibition: Does not score
• Alternate: Backup entry

Heat and Lane Assignments

• Automatic: Fastest times in fastest heats, center lanes for fastest
• Manual: Click dropdowns to assign specific positions

Troubleshooting

Athlete not appearing: Check gender, division, or age requirements.

Cannot enter athlete: Entry limits may be reached.

Seed times not displaying: Re-enter in MM:SS.HH format.
